TANDOORI CHICKEN IN INDIAN STYLE

 Tandoori chicken is a popular Indian dish that is marinated in yogurt and spices and then cooked in a clay oven called a tandoor. Here is a recipe for making tandoori chicken in Indian style:



Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoons garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons tandoori masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, tandoori masala powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt, and oil. Mix well.

  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix until each piece is well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top of it.

  4. Place the marinated chicken pieces on the wire rack and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the skin is crispy.

  5. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges.
